I, unofficially, quit drinking! You'll see why soon!
Marie Claire had their annual Fashion awards at Skyline in (the now trendy) Braamfontein recently and in true Marie Claire style, everyone was fashioning to the T!
Bloggers, glossy editors, designers, publicists, socialites, store owners and their minions all gathered at rooftop, sipped on champers (or the palette-confusing cocktail served at the door; it was sweet with something... strange but delice) and watched as cool people got cool recognition from a cool mag for doing cool stuff (don't you just love the word cool?):
Left: Aspasia and Best Emerging Designer, Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa Knitwear (he did the kewl knits that got a lot of attention at design Indaba)
Right: Aspasia with, uhm... personnel from Spence, the Best Online Presence winners
Left: Best Big Retailer Supporting Local Design: Woolworths (really? please read this and you'll understand the numerous conversations I've had with fellow bloggers about Woolies' pro-international stance. Then again, they've done some interesting stuff which we have not seen at other stores. Now we wait and see what Foschini and Edgars will do for the next twelve months, should be interesting!)
Right: Best Big Emporium Supporting Local Production: The Space
Left: Business Savvy Fashion Label winners: Two (owned by sisters Gina and Caren Waldman)
Right: Fashion Blogger of the year Mali Tyilo of Skattie, What are you wearing? with BryanBoy who was there to present the award
Left: Anele played MC for the night and she was H-I-larious - loved her, she should be permanently reserved to MC fashion awards!
Right: The fabulous guy from the de la Beaute awards - yet again he wore a jaw dropping outfit - with ties knots and hanging bits (just about everything I love in a shirt) AND, for the love of money, could someone please tell me what his name is?
Doreen Southwood, Miss Mili B (owners of Mememe Johannesburg), winners of the Best Small Emporium supporting local production, with Aspasia
Congrats to all the winners!
And the pics with BryanBoy (seeing as I was clearly confused for the official photographer of the night...)

YUP! I quit! I have no idea which setting I put my camera on for these but clearly mid-slur I managed to find the blur-beyond-recognition button (turns out it does exist. Like the burn-the-toast setting on a toaster, why is it even there?).
Thanks Marie Claire! Love the scarf in the goodie bag btw - hope it's 100% South African!
