The Night Before Africa Fashion Week

Africa Fashion International threw a wonderful soiree to kickstart fashion week, and in essence, change gears of how African fashion has been perceived.
Enjoy the pics of who was there:

Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Chairperson of AFI - Africa Fashion Week conveners (inset: her fabu-bubu Louboutin Boots and Gucci chain bag)

LaQuan Smith (blogged about him here if you missed it), inset are the haute Louboutins he wore to the party... refer to men in heels on why think this is ferocious.

Dr Precious Motsepe-Moloi having a chat with Deola Segoe

Indashio Inspires with Koketso Chiepe - Indashio will be styling Koketso's collection. Yes, this is the Koketso who also has the Baby Star Collection with South African TV personality, Bonang Matheba
Lesley, aka Da Les, upping the fashion stakes with a Balenciaga shirt
Suzaan Heyns in a Suzaan Heyns trench coat - with DeGorge zip details... fierce!

Soccer player, Mathew Booth, with haute Sonia Booth who will be rocking a few shows (ssshhh! I hear she will be on the David Tlale and Koketso Chiepe show... I will keep you posted)

Jenny Andrews - fashion stylist, actually, she's a fashionista-at-large - wearing a skirt by the faded brand by S'thandiwe Kgorokge (2 or 3 years ago I am guessing). It's a lovely holey skirt pieced together by a mesh lining.
For the life of me I cannot remember her name (sorry girl!) but this tassled cone cape is by David Tlale - which I was lusting after until i heard it had a "sold" tag on it!

Deola Sagoe; Nigerian Fashion Power brand with influences stretching in New York... keep an eye on her!
Yvette Mason of the Mason Company. Did I mention that I have never seen her in any other colour than red with black and or gray? AAAnd yet, she looks different each and everytime I see her - now that's fashion
Jen Su. She loves her fashion! Bumped into her on the brink of purchasing an Ostrich leather chain bag at the AFI Boutique (located on level -2 of the Sandton Convention Centre)
Anna Getaneh of African Mosaique
This is Ms Who? - that's her surname, for real!, she's a fashion stylist and she will be working on Deola Sagoe's show.
Babalwa Mneno - fashion model from my high school days. Is she still in the industry?

Fennwell Motsepe representing his brother who was absent from the event
Jeannie D. > MC for the evening. Looking DeGorge in a "London Boutique" embellished number
Azania Ndoro, radio personality.
