23 November 2010

Please note this day!
The first Annual South African National Fashion Conference is going to take place at the Southern Sun Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg (at a cost of R998 per person, I know: I mentioned money, very tacky! - email me if you're keen to sponsor me, lol! no seriously, please?).

The conference promises to equip Fashion Designers and Fashion entrepreneurs with Business skills (including how to incorporate the Department of Trade and Industry Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment - BBBEE - a major plus - so it'll be like an MBA course, lol) presented by industry leaders and key role players that could drive vertical growth for Fashion Designers - and to say that this is overdue is putting things mildly.

Other items on the agenda include introducing Fashion entrepreneurs to Fashion Governing Bodies, Government and Corporate Procurement Practices and to provide information on existing enterprise development programmes, business development (including accessing information and funding) and general support services.

For more information, please visit their Facebook Page (here) and their website (here).

I will keep you posted on further developments regarding the conference
