The end of New York Fashion Week marked the end of Fashion and Genius' Love child.
There really are no words to describe the loss. 40 year old Lee McQueen was found in his apartment in what was described as a suicide; following a depression when his beloved mother (and best friend) passed on... actually, NO! It's all too morbid to. THIS IS how I choose to remember him:
He was an inspiration and in Thula Sindi's words: "There are very few designers I look-up to but Alexander McQueen was like an Idol to me. A self-made universe." This for me captures his life!
As he rests in Peace, may the much loved label, the much spoken about Armadillo shoes (which adorned the feet of style icons of our time: Daphne Guiness and her watered down mirror-version, Lady Gaga) and one of the leaders in shoe architecture (in my humble opinion) live forever and flourish to new heights in celebration of a man with a vision like no other!
Rest in Peace
